Opened in August 2024, the West End Economic Hub provides a welcoming, collaborative space for accessing on-the-ground economic development resources for businesses and communities in western Marquette County. Staffed by the LSCP and guided by the West End Advisory Council (more details at the bottom of the page), the Hub is open 4+ days a week with public hours and has additional availability for LSCP Partners utilizing services that come with their membership such as conference room rentals. The Hub is located at 910 US Highway 41 W, Ishpeming, MI 49849.

The Hub is made possible by generous annual investments by Northern Michigan University, Nicolet Bank, and the City of Negaunee as well as a flexible sublease by the West End Health Foundation.

Active Physical Therapy—Ishpeming is a full-range physical therapy service provider located at 820 Carp River Lane and 111 W. Division Street. Originally a general and sports-based clinic, Active has expanded over the past 11 years to include specialties in women's health and neurological conditions, adapting to the needs of the local community. To better serve the area, they opened a second Ishpeming location downtown earlier this year.

Beyond their specialized care, Active Physical Therapy is deeply involved in the local community through event sponsorships, volunteerism, and philanthropy. Each year, they donate approximately $50,000 in athletic trainer time to support youth sports programs in the Negaunee, Ishpeming, NICE, and Republic school districts.

The Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum is rich with local history of the miners of the Marquette Iron Range. Cliffs Shaft tours offer the unique experience. Tour guides escort visitors through the underground C-shaft access tunnel. Miners and equipment passed through the tunnel to the C-shaft lift that, years past, went down into the workings of the mine. Please see our website for Tour times.

Built in 1031, this Georgian Revival landmark has been a silent witness to love stories, grand gatherings, and even a brush with Hollywood. If the walls could talk, they'd tell you about the summer of 1959, when Jimmy Stewart and Lee Remick wandered these halls during the filming of Anatomy of a Murder. They'd hum the melodies of Duke Ellington, who sat at a piano inside The Mather, composing a score that would become legendary and whisper about the miners, business tycoons, and travelers.
